Overview
The Barnet Council Procurement Portal has been created so that we can broaden our horizons and make us more assessable to small (local) businesses, which could lead to a solid foundation for good business practice and firm commitment from the local businesses in serving their community.
Background
It also offers for the first time, in partnership with BiP Solutions and, using their PrOJECt product for placing EU public notices, a complete listing of all current Barnet Council public notices with an immediate facility for any interested companies to express interest using the email link within the public notice.
Strategic Procurement Team (SPT) - Overview
- provides a corporate focus for Barnet’s procurement strategy, policy and procedures.
- provides support and advice to the council's service areas on procurement activities
- monitors procurement activities through Category and Gateway Review processes

- to acknowledge the need for and importance of flexibility
- to allow a corporate approach for contracts which are common across all service areas
- to facilitate cross-service and cross-functional working where appropriate
- to facilitate common procurement activities across other Local Authorities
