II.1) DESCRIPTION
II.1.1) Title attributed to contract by the contracting authority (as stated in the original notice) UK-London: Provision of Internal Audit Services
II.1.2) Short description of the contract or purchase(s) (as stated in the original notice) The London Borough of Barnet seeks expressions of interest for the above-mentioned from suitably qualified and experienced providers of Internal Audit Services to Local Authorities. The Service provider will: undertake work to provide assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control to manage the risks to achieve the objectives within each activity area or system under review in order to assist officers and members in the effective discharge of their responsibilities and provide advice and guidance as necessary. The work is expected to be up to 400 days per annum (however this may increase depending on circumstances). The contract will be for a three-year period and extendable for a further period of two years, commencing 1 April 2011. It will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous quote to the Council. The Council is not bound to accept the lowest or any quotation.
